The following information package is provided by the school division to anyone interested in the building. It contains tax statements, the approximate operating costs of the building, etc.
In the last year, the school cost about $45,000 for all electricity. This amount kept the school heated all winter and during our tour the school was generally room temperature throughout. Therefore, this is a fairly accurate cost for electricity. The school is heated with an electric boiler.
There were additional expenses for water & sewer.
No information is available as to the cost of insurance for the building. The purchaser will need to insure the building as they see fit. The current assessment of about $350,000 would in no way be the replacement value of the building. We would estimate the replacement cost to be several million.
